Is there any chance that it would be celebrated ad orientum?

Hi Jeremy, I'm part of the group that sings at this Mass. It won't be celebrated ad orientem.

A 'public' ad orientum Novus Ordo Mass would really be a sight in Singapore.

Norman, would the Schola be using the Graduale Triplex or the Graduale Simplex for the Gregorian Notation?

Dear Jeremy,

Yes, but that is the decision of the priest and we laity usually have no say in it :)

We'll be using both the Graduale Romanum and the Graduale Simplex for the propers. If you're coming, please do identify yourself to the schola to say hi. Always nice to meet like-minded people!

regards

Norman

Personally, I take the view that the Simplex is more appropriate for Novus Ordo Masses, since with a simpler tune those who can sing in the congregation would also find it easier to participate. The Romanum and the Triplex are beautiful in their own right, but the local catechesis on 'Hymn vs Song' is not at the level as it should be.
